Jasey Book stopped 24 of 25 Saskatoon shots as the Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcats won game 1 of their first round female Midget AAA playoff series 2-1 on Wednesday night.
Kate Scidmore scored once and had an assist to put the Wildcats ahead in the best-of-five series.
Swift Current got down early on a Julia Rongve goal only 2:24 into the game.
They bounced back when Scidmore set Bell up on the power play late in the first period.
She then put the Wildcats ahead early in the second period.
Swift Current went 1 for 11 on the power play and held Saskatoon to 0 for 9.
Game 2 is Saturday at the Fairview West Arena.
