Battling in the Bridge City over the weekend, the Diamond Energy Female Midget AAA Wildcats suffered losses of 5-2 and 4-1 to the Saskatoon Stars to end their regular season schedule.

Taylor Lind had a goal and an assist to lead the way in Saturday's 5-2 loss. Trista Labarowski added the other Wildcats goal while Taylor Kirwan nabbed an assist in the game as well.

The Wildcats managed a 1-for-3 effort on the powerplay, but were out-shot 29-15 in the game.

Sunday was a closer contest, as Lind found the back of the net short-handed in the first period to open scoring. The Stars answered with 23 seconds remaining in the period to work a 1-1 tie through one period.

Saskatoon scored just once in the second period, to take a 2-1 lead through 40 minutes, despite the Wildcats outshooting the Stars 10-9 in the second frame.

Down a goal in the final period, the Wildcats managed just two shots to Saskatoon's nine, and were unable to respond to a pair of goals in the latter half of the period, including an empty-netter with just one minute left.

The Wildcats end the regular season with a 12-11-1-4 record, good for fifth place in the SFMAAAHL. They take on the fourth-place Regina Rebels in the opening round of playoffs, and will be hoping for some magic for the second-straight season.
