Swift Current's Griffin Wilson was back near the top of the leader board in the latest Maple Leaf Junior Tour Order of Merit event.

Wilson placed second in the Junior Boys division at the Saskatchewan Junior Championship held at Dakota Dunes Golf Links.

He fired an opening-round 74 to hold a two-shot lead, but a second-round 78 left him four shots back of Steven Duchscher (Saskatoon) in the two-day tourney.

Swift's Ryan McCleary was also in action in the Bantam Boys division. He shot a pair of 88s to place 17th.

Both Wilson and McCleary won't have to travel far for their next stop on the Maple Leaf Junior Tour.

An August 25-26 tourney date sees the MJT head to Elmwood Golf and Country Club here in Swift Current for the Golf Saskatchewan Order of Merit Championship.

The tourney serves as a qualifier for the MJT National Championship. Nationals are November 8-11 in Phoenix, Arizona.
