Wotypka shot an opening-round +12 (83) at the par-71 Cedar Brae Golf Club in Scarborough, ON.

Starting out on the par back nine, Wotypka fired a +8 (44), mixing in a birdie on the 549 yard par-5 17th, along with two pars, four bogeys, a double bogey, and a triple.

He settled into a rhythm on the front nine, however, posting a +4 (39). Wotypka birdied another par-5 - the 533 yard fifth 5th hole - and added three pars, along with five bogeys.

Wotypka has an afternoon tee time for Round 2 tomorrow afternoon. His round gets underway at 1:48 ET, or 11:48 a.m. Sask time, looking to make the cut and extend his event to Thursday and Friday.

We'll have an update on his position on the leaderboard tomorrow morning, once all 156 golfers are through the first round of action.
