A pair of Sask-Alta baseball teams improved to 2-0 last night.

Swift Current vs. Shaunavon

In Swift Current, the Yard Goats hosted the Shaunavon Badgers and scored a 10-9 comeback win.

The Badgers jumped out to a 7-1 lead by the end of the second inning, however, Swift Current's bats seemed to wake up after Shawn Lee took over pitching in the third inning.

After surrendering two more runs in the top of the third inning, Lee shut the door on the Badgers while Swift Current would score three runs in the third and fourth innings making it 9-6.

The Yard Goats would tack on a single run in the fifth and take a 10-9 lead in the bottom of the sixth with two more runs scored.

Cabri vs. Maple Creek

The other contest on last night was held at the Swamp in Cabri as the River Rats blew up the visiting Maple Creek Mohawks 16-3.

Former Swift Current Indian Reid Fritzke had a home run for Cabri and Hayden Johnston also had one for the home side.

What's Next

It will be a quick turnaround for the Badgers tonight as they'll be looking to get into the win column facing the Hazlet Elks in Shaunavon.

The pair of teams are 0-2 on the year and the first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
