Swift Current's Daylan Gatkze and the Yorkton Terriers edged the Carleton Place Canadians 4-3 in overtime yesterday for the Canadian Junior A championship in Vernon, B.C.

It's Yorkton's first-ever RBC Cup win and it comes in their fifth appearance in the tournament.

The Canadiens were up 3-1 late in the third before giving up two goals eight seconds apart, sending the game to overtime, where the Terriers would come out on top.

Yorkton doubled the host Vernon Vipers 6-3 Saturday in the first RBC Cup semifinal game of the day, spoiling Vernon’s hopes of claiming a record seventh Canadian title.

Carleton Place gained entry into the final with a 4-3 comeback victory over the Dauphin Kings in the second semi on Saturday night.
