The 3rd Annual Shaunavon Ranch Rodeo goes this Saturday out at the Ron Winquist Arena west of town.

"The Ranch Rodeo is a rodeo that pits local ranches competing against eachother in a bunch of events that are close to what a guy does in real ranch life," explained Curtis Jacob, President of the Ranch Rodeo Committee, "so we've got our trailer loading, doctoring, we've got our team branding."

Jacob added there are 12 teams signed up for this year's events, as well as special events for the kids.

"We have a wild ewe milking, so that's an offshoot of our wild cow milking, only for the little kids we've got sheep they'll do that with, and then we have a stick horse race for the younger ones."

Following the Rodeo there will be a beer gardens and concession booth with music and visiting.
