There were 81 new cases of COVID-19 reported by the Saskatchewan Health Authority on Sunday.

That number brings the total provincial number of cases to 55,558, with 656 of them considered "active".

The new cases were predominantly in Saskatoon and the southeast, with those two regions accounting for nearly half.

56 residents remain in hospital, with 45 receiving inpatient care and 11 in intensive care.

And with no new deaths reported, that total number remains at 582.

Here in the southwest, there were 3 new cases; 2 in southwest subzone 1 and 1 in southwest subzone 2.

That brings the region's active case count to 28, with the majority of those (28) in subzone 2 including locally here in Swift Current.

The SHA is also reporting that 2,542 vaccines were administered in the province, with 666,051 residents now being reported as "fully vaccinated".

78 doses of vaccine were administered in the southwest, which sits at just over 50 percent fully vaccinated.
