It's a yearly tradition in Swift Current, only this year it'll take place one day earlier.

The annual Swift Current parade, which usually falls on Canada Day, will take place one day prior to the holiday this year, on Saturday June 30.

Registration is currently open for organizations interested in entering a float in this year's parade, with the theme "Swift Current - 100 years and Growing".

The theme coinciding with Swift Current's 100th anniversary since achieving town status, will feature residents 100 years of age or older as guest marshals.

This year's route will remain as it has in previous years, starting at the Wheatland Mall at roughly 10:00 am, and ending at the Palliser Care Centre.
