This week residents of Frontier and area will be working to construct phase one of the Blaine Sanford Memorial Playground at the Frontier School.

Blaine Sanford was killed tragically last year  and his younger brother was seriously injured.

Marion Sanford is the boys' mother and she is a member of the Organizing Committee for the Playground. She says it's been no surprise to her that they have had so much encouragement and support for this project. She says, "I just think the Southline and the Southwest..anything we have decided to do we've had 100% commitment from everybody. Ya know, what can we do, can we be on the board, we can do this, we can do that..and it's just been unreal"

To date, the group has raised between 80 and 90,000 dollars and have work crews in place to begin construction today and hopefully finish up on Thursday May 25th.

Sanford says the second phase of the project is benches around the Playground and those will be ordered and put in place later this summer.

Everyone is welcome to come out and help. All snacks, lunches and water for workers will be supplied.
