The Chinook School Division has decided to replace the roof on the Shaunavon High School.

The Division says the roof membranes are failing, and they have tendered Plato's Roofing from Medicine Hat to do the work, along with roofing on four portable classrooms - two located at the High School and two at the Public School.

Kevin Jones is the Manager of Transportation and Facilities at the Chinook School Division. He says work will begin very soon and should be completed by the end of February of 2018. He adds, "The Project will definitely be going on while the students are in school, so there'll be specific areas that are kinda "out of bounds" type areas that the contractor will work with the school to ensure that everything is done safely and it works for the school."

The projected cost of the project is $780,000.
