A busy 2017 for the Swift Current Ag & Ex wrapped up last night at their annual general meeting (AGM).

The two biggest events the non-profit organization oversaw this past year were Frontier Days and the CCA Finals Rodeo, both drawing over 15,000 people.

Lenora Bells, the event development coordinator with the Swift Current Ag & Ex, said they were pleased with the results from last year.

"I would say that the Swift Current Ag & Ex had a really good year," she explained. "We had a number of events that happened and our volunteers were on board and enthusiastic and we had sponsors on board, so as a community it really came together."

Bells went onto add that attendance this past year was on par with most years, except for one event that has started gain some more interest.

"The 'Ranchman's Ridin' & Recitin' we've got more coming there," she said. "As far as the other ones, we're generally about the same number of attendees throughout the year."

Five events combine to draw over 45,000 in attendance, with 3,410 going to the Spring Home & Leisure Show, 1,500 plus attending the Discover the Farm & Poultry & Exotic Animal Sale, 24,517 taking in Frontier Days, over 1,000 checking out the 'Ranchman's Ridin' & Recitin', and the CCA Rodeo Finals drawing over 15,000.

The Ag & Ex also said they were excited about this upcoming year because it will be the 80th annual Frontier Days.
