Friday night at the Lyric Theatre saw firefighters and magicians come together for the Swift Current Professional Firefighters Associations annual variety show.

The show featured comedian magicians Trevor & Lorena Watters, Louie Foxx, and Richy Roy.

The goal of the show is to raise funds for the Swift Current Firefighters charity foundation.

Keith McLeod, a firefighter with the Swift Current Fire Department, said that the fund is set up to help people within the community who are in need.

"We use these funds to help people who are going through something with medical conditions, or if their house burns down we can help out with that," he said. "We also help local organizations, football teams, that kind of things."

McLeod said that this year's show was another success due to the support from the community.

"The show was another good show, with another good turnout, and a good time had by all that came."

He added that they don't have the final numbers for what they've raised, but if it's like the previous years, the community donated a tremendous amount.
