Rebuttals were in full force Friday night as the Swift Current Comprehensive High School business club went to Luther Collegiate in Regina for a debate tournament.

The prepared speech rounds included a pair of tough topics. The students had to argue whether media should reveal the ethnicity of suspected criminals, and whether parents should turn in their kids for criminal offences.

The team of Emma Carlson and Kai Popp finished first in the novice category, while Rachel Argue and Ellie Lowe came second and Chloe Hess and Ranhee Lee came third.

Carlson was named the top novice speaker, Popp came in second place and Argue finished third.

The teams at the tournament representing Swift Current Comprehensive High School were Alex Friesen and Steele Prefontaine, Hess and Lee, Lexi Boss and Daisy Dyck, Lowe and Argue, and Carlson and Popp.
