A province-wide journey raising awareness and funds for mental health passed through Swift Current yesterday.

21-year-old Jade Dulle collaborated two of her biggest passions to create Jade's Ride for Mental Health, a 1,300-kilometre cycling voyage across Saskatchewan.

"Approximately two years ago I began to deal with symptoms of bipolar disorder and I didn't really know what was going on," Dulle said. "I found resources within my community to become stable leading me to become passionate about mental health. I wanted to plan something big, something I could do for a long period and it just happened that I collaborated my love for cycling and mental health to create Jade's Ride for Mental Health."

The month-long trek started off in the Port of Willow Creek on Tuesday and will finish near the end of June in Creighton.

"Physically I'm feeling awesome," she added. "My mind is keeping me motivated to continue trekking on. I know yesterday I had a 90 km/hr wind at my back making me go relatively fast."

The journey will take Jane's Ride for Mental Health through major hubs in Saskatchewan.

The non-profit fundraising initiative will be donating all of the funds raised to the Canadian Mental Health Association - Saskatoon Branch Inc. with the goals to raise $20,000.
