Another face is joining three others in a race towards the Cypress Hills-Grasslands MP seat.

Jeremy Patzer grew up on a family farm in the southwest and has been living in Swift Current for the better part of 10 years. He has also been involved with the Conservative Party Board of Directors in the riding for the last four years.

He spoke about what would make him a good MP.

"I've got strong relationships with people. I've been around small businesses helping out with different boards where I can. One of my strongest qualities is I'm a listener, I like to hear what matters to people and what people are looking for, and I want to be a voice for those people."

Patzer said that he would want to represent the area's good economy in both the rural and urban aspects.

He said that he would be looking to keep jobs local, as well as ensuring affordability for families and tax fairness.

Kyle Bennett, Sean Checkley, and Megz Reynolds have all announced that they will be seeking the nomination for the position that David Anderson is leaving behind.

"There are some strong names out there," Patzer said. "I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else who's out there and running. I think when people see my platform as far as how I can support people both in the small business world, and from the agriculture world as well. I think people are going to like that."

The federal election takes place on October 21.
