Environment Canada says a developing winter storm is forecast to move through Alberta today and spread into southwestern Saskatchewan tonight.

While the brunt of the storm will occur in Alberta, parts of southwest Saskatchewan will see easterly winds of 50 gusting to 70 km/hr, giving poor visibility  in snow and blowing snow tonight and possibly into Saturday morning.

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some areas.

A blowing snow advisory has been issued for the Swift Current, Herbert, Cabri, Kyle and Lucky Lake areas, as well as the Gull Lake and Leader areas.
