At around 4:30 P.M. on Sunday a single car vehicle collision just east of Herbert caused a blackout for the small community.

Police on the scene said that there were two occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Minor injuries were sustained by the occupants of the vehicle involved in the crash.

The car hit a power pole in the ditch, causing the power pole to topple over, also creating a small grass fire in the ditch a short distance away from the scene of the crash.

Initially, travel was restricted through the patch of highway, but within a few hours the road was cleared for traffic.

Power is currently out for the town of Herbert but is expected to be restored soon.
