SwiftCurrentOnline has learned that two new candidates have entered their names for Mayor in the upcoming municipal election.

Kathy Fraser and Maria Rose Lewans have submitted their names as nominees for Mayor in the race alongside Denis Perrault.

In addition, five other last-minute candidates have entered their names for positions on Council, bringing the total to 19 candidates.

All candidates now have a 24 hour period to withdraw candidacy if necessary.
