The Swift Current Broncos 2017-18 regular season proved to be one of their most successful ones both on and off the ice.

This season the Broncos recorded the most points in a season since they won the Memorial Cup in 1989 and saw their highest attendance over the last decade.

Dianne Sletten, director of business operations with the Swift Current Broncos, said that this season has been fantastic.

"We ended up with 12 sell-out games, 2,408 season ticket holders. It was just an unbelievable year for us, and we're absolutely thrilled," she said. "Financially it's going to end up being a very positive year just with the regular season games."

Sletten said that this season the Broncos had 90,335 attend their 36 home games, over 18,000 more than last year.

"I've been here six years, and I know certainly this is by far the best year we've really ever had regarding overall attendance and financially," she said. "From what I've heard from others it might be one the best years since the team came back in 1986."

Sletten said that the success the franchise saw this year wasn't just due to the team and their success but also due to the southwest as a whole rallying around the team.

"We definitely need the whole southwest to support the Broncos, and they have come out in droves this year," she said. "It's been absolutely unbelievable for us on the office side of things and definitely for the players to see the stands full every night is something you hope and pray will happen every game. You feel really proud to be a part of the organization and can't thank the whole southwest again enough for their support."'

Sletten added with playoffs looming she hopes they can add to what has already been a positive financial year and a record-breaking attendance year as well.

The Broncos sold out Games 1 and 2, Friday and Saturday this week, to open Round 1 against the Regina Pats in 20 minutes.
