This past Friday was a busy day for the both detachments of the RCMP. At approximately 12:00 pm Friday afternoon a lone male entered a business in the zero block of Central Ave in Swift Current. The male proceeded to grab cash

from a drawer before fleeing the scene on foot. RCMP were notified and contacted local media at approximately 12:55 pm, to ask for their assistance in informing the public about the suspect being at large. With the tips that came in

RCMP were able to establish that the suspect had fled the city by getting a local taxi to take him to the Regina International Airport. The RCMP contacted the Moose Jaw City Police and they were able to detain the cab and arrest the

suspect. Steward Serson of Regina is being held pending his court appearance on Tuesday at 9:30 am in provincial court in Swift Current.

While this incident was occurring the RCMP also received a separate complaint regarding a man carrying what was thought to be a gun. RCMP responded to what was a domestic dispute. The gun in question was an airsoft pistol that

shoots plastic pellets. This matter is under investigation and at this time no charges have been laid.
