January was a busy month for Shaunavon RCMP with the Detachment receiving a total of 103 Calls of Service and Assistance.

Included in these calls  were two Assault/Assault with a Weapon calls, four Break and Enter calls, two Possession/Production of Cocaine and Cannabis Calls,  three Traffic Accidents calls and 60 Traffic Violation Calls.

Shaunavon RCMP would like to remind area residents that if you are involved in a traffic accident you should keep these questions in mind:  Is the vehicle driveable or does it need to be towed? Are there any injuries? Are the vehicles involved registered in Saskatchewan? And, Is alcohol and any other intoxicating substances involved?

Depending on the answers to these questions, that will determine if the RCMP need to be involved.

Registered vehicle owners are also reminded that there are several offenses of Failing to Report or Remain at the Scene, depending on the severity of the accident.

When in doubt, contact the RCMP Detachment.

The Shaunavon RCMP Detachment polices the villages of Climax and Frontier, the towns of Shaunavon and Eastend, and the Rural Municipalities of Arlington, Bone Creek, Frontier, Grassy Creek, Lone Tree, White Valley, and a small portion of Val Marie.
