Palliser MP Ray Boughen at Moose Jaw's South Hill Fine Foods

The Harper government is making it easier for shoppers across the country to identify home grown products on our grocery store shelves.

The plan is to better promote Canadian food products in our supermarkets, through shelf displays, brochures and visible labelling.

Palliser MP Ray Boughen made the announcement Frdiay morning on behalf of Federal AG minister Gerry Ritz at the South Hill Fine Food store in Moose Jaw.

It started as a pilot project in Newfoundland, BC and Ontario last year and has reached 65 stores across the country. "This is a great advantage to our farmers and retailers and I believe a project that is well worth supporting. I'm proud to be part of a government that works hard for food groceries and I commend grocers like Fine Foods here in Moose Jaw that take it upon themselves to showcase Canadian food products."
