While one cannabis store in Swift Current inches closer to opening, the other is still searching for a place to set up shop.

Kevin Tindall one of the permit holders to be able to sell cannabis in the City but has yet to purchase a storefront.

General Manager of Planning and Growth Development with the City of Swift Current Michael Ruus said the City has been in constant talks with Tindall.

"There has been ongoing discussions on some different options they've been exploring, no news as of yet," he said. "As soon as a location is found for that business then there will be a notice sent to a future city council meeting."

Ruus went onto add the City isn't pressing the business and are happily awaiting their arrival.

"There is no real urgency on the City's end," he said. "Other than wanting to see another successful business be established in the City's downtown core."

DreamWeavers Cannabis Products Inc almost has their store ready to open, as they're waiting for product shipments to begin arriving.

Celeste Gerber, the president of DreamWeavers Cannabis Products Inc, told Swift Current Online they've already hired 7 employees and put them through a week of training in anticipation of opening.
