The Saskatchewan government is investing $1.5 million in the Community Airport Partnership Program.

This funding will provide improvements to 19 community airports across the province, and, when combined with local matching dollars, will represent a $3 million investment in provincial airport infrastructure.

One airport receiving provincial funding is the community airport in Maple Creek.

They will receive $4,240, and Maple Creek CAO, Gary Schlageter, explains what work will be done. He said,  "It's jut gonna be paving of the lines and numbers on the runways. That will help cover the cost of that. Our Director of Operations is contacting the contractors and the people who will be painting the lines to get that rolling."

They are hoping to have the work complete over the summer.
