BINGO!!!

The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Association recently handed out 1.4 million dollars to Saskatchewan communities through their charitable gaming grant program.

$32,941 of that made it's way to Swift Current and area.

Spokesperson for the SLGA David Morris says how much money an organization gets depends on the activity the group holds.

"It really depends on the  groups and organizations, as to the amount of charitable gaming that they conduct. The grant itself is 25 percent of the net revenues raised from the activities so it varies from quarter to quarter."

Morris says the grant helps all types of groups from amateur sports groups to service clubs.

He commends the efforts of workers and volunteers who hold activities to better their communities.
