Last night Chautauqua Performing Arts Festival ended off its third and final day of performances.

The event featured mostly local and provincial performances of many varieties.

The Lyric Theatre’s Art Director Gordon McCall said it was a good way to showcase local talent.

“We want to celebrate our own stories, so local and provincial are high on the priority list, for us to even learn things about ourselves that we don’t know, even though we live right in the community, it's a wonderful experience that theatre can offer, to enlighten and entertain at the same time.”

There was everything from educational seminars, to interactive children's music, to theatrical performances about addiction.

This was the 11th Chautauqua event and featured a total of 32 events featured both on the patio and inside on stage, with four plays, and 28 other performances.

There was also a performer from Australia. The intended purpose of this mix of both local and foreign performances is to outline that the arts can draw people together from all over.

The Lyric Theatre is planning to continue hosting the event in the future.
