Several dignitaries were on hand for the official grand opening of the newly-renovated Maple Creek Composite School this week.

Members of the Chinook School Division Board and MLA for Cypress Hills, Wayne Elhard all took in the celebrations, as the project that had been in development for several years finally came to a close.

Board Chair for Chinook, Randy Beler says it's a good feeling to have the project completed.

Beler adds the excitement spreads to the students as well, saying they can now reap the rewards of the new facility, including the bright atmosphere and the layout of the building.

Approximately 300 people were in attendence for the school's grand opening.
