The city of Swift Current is spreading some love around to various non-profits in the community.

Initially announced back in May, city council made arrangements for a portion of its federal "Safe Restart Program" funding to be set aside as a one-time grant that could be used to help out non-profit and volunteer-based organizations as they struggle to get operations back to normal after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The total amount; coming in at $93,900, was formed into the Safe Restart Program Funding Grant by the city's administration team, in order to help assist, maintain and improve resident's access to initiatives and programs that, quote:

"Support a healthy and active community and help alleviate the effects of COVID-19."

As such, the program's priority will be given to new initiatives that are designed with COVID-19 measures in mind and are there to help people and businesses return to some sense of normal.
