The City of Swift Current has renewed their contract with P & A Enterprises to operate the city's Tele-Bus system.

Engineering Director Mac Forster says the contractor will stay on for three years, even as the city looks at improving the transit system through their Master Transportation Plan: "As we move forward with future deliberations on how to improve the bus service, P & A will continue to offer that service to the City, even while this process is underway."

Forster says fares will remain the same at $1.50 per one-way trip, adding over the last two years, they have averaged 22,000 one-way trips: "Most riders do take a two-way trip, so it really results in a $3.00 round trip."

Forster adds as they continue with their Master Transportation Plan, they may re-evaluate the fares required and determine what subsidies they'll provide to the transit system.
