A number of dignitaries were on hand for the signing of an Aboriginal Employment Development Agreement Friday in Swift Current.

The City, along with several of its Unions, signed on with the program at a ceremony at the Great Plains College.

Mayor Sandy Larson says the agreement is important for the future of the city's workforce, as we begin to see a growing Aboriginal population, and labour needs from employers around Swift Current.

First Nations and Metis Relations Minister June Draude was also in attendance to sign the agreement, along with local members of CUPE, IBEW, and the IAFF.
