Cold Snap Hard on Cars

The recent cold snap was not only hard on some people, but also our vehicles.

It's been a busy time for mechanics and garages in Swift Current. Brett Bedford is a dispatcher with Cypress Motors and says they've had an increase of vehicles towed in over the last couple of days: "We're getting a lot of fuel problems with diesels frozen up... water in fuel systems and stuff like that, sometimes they're not running winter fuel. A lot of people are coming in trying to find their block heater cord because it's cold now, and they didn't do it when it was warmer out."

 

To avoid being left out in the cold, Bedford suggests making sure your vehicle is up to date with its maintenance, including making sure you do have good filters and batteries in it.
