Mark Frison, President and CEO of Cypress Hills College, was one of 10 appointees to Enterprise Saskatchewan's Board of Directors.

The announcement was made by Enterprise and Innovation Minister, Lyle Stewart this morning.

Frison was appointed as Chair of Post-Secondary Education for the Board, and joins nine other appointees with backgrounds in labour, business, and agriculture.

Frison says he is honoured with the appointment to the board, and believes his experience sitting on similar boards in and outside of Saskatchewan will be an asset to the new board.  He sat on boards in the college sector in Saskatchewan, and for universities in the Maritimes.  Frison also spent several years with Economic Development in Atlantic Canada, with two Crown Corporations, and the Cape Breton Growth Fund.  He is also the current Chairperson of the Campus Saskatchewan Management Board, which works for greater mobility and accessibility for students.

This appointment comes after Minister Stewart appeared at Action Southwest and the Cypress Hills College's networking luncheon on Thursday.

With the province continuing to experience an economic boom, Stewart says it'll be important to maintain the success in our area.  He says this area has a lot of potential, as well as a number of ongoing and escalating projects in the oil and gas industry.

Stewart adds that, when it comes to supporting the province's economy, he's looking forward to working with the newly-formed board of Enterprise Saskatchewan.
