Saturday morning saw a fire in the lobby of Wadena's Blue Willow Inn after an electrical fire broke out in the lobby.

Dustin and Dylan Williamson, Kelly Taylor, and Ben Bauce, were coming back from a show in Stenen, Sask. when they passed Wadena at roughly 1:10 a.m.

Two of the heroes, Dustin and Dylan, are from southwestern Saskatchewan. They went to school till grade 7 in Vanguard and graduated from Ponteix.

At first, the band of comedians thought that the fire was small but quickly realized it was no laughing matter.

Dustin reflected on the actions the four of them took upon seeing the fire.

"We pulled a u-turn on the highway quick. Then we went and rushed to the fire as fast as we could, got out and started yelling, and banging on windows and trying to wake up anybody who might be in the house. The fire was right next to the front door."

Once everyone was awake, they made their way to the front of the building where they hoped to contain the fire. Bauce, one of the comedians, took action by running inside to grab a fire extinguisher. While Bauce did this the others grabbed garbage cans and started filling them with water, beginning to douse the fire, meanwhile the roof of the building started to crumble.

Dustin said that he believed Martin Cho, the owner of the motel, woke up from the yelling and the smoke. Williamson also said that Cho was visibly disorientated due to smoke inhalation.

At this point, Cho went outside to see the four men fighting off the fire, then calling 911.

Costs for damage from the fire are not known at this time but the motel is still open. Williamson also wants people to know this is a good example of why they should always have working fire detectors and a fire extinguisher in their house that is up to date.\
