Some serious charges were laid down in court yesterday for a Ponteix woman and a man from B.C.

22-year old Richard Michael Jackson of Nanaimo, B.C., and 39-year old Bernadette Wensley of Ponteix are each facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder.

RCMP Spokesperson Heather Russell says the charges stem following a week long investigation.

"Last week on the 23rd, the RCMP in Ponteix received a complaint and followed up that complaint with an investigation in conjuction with our Major Crimes Section here in Regina.  That has led to charges of conspiracy to commit murder against two individuals.  The woman is also charged with counseling  to commit murder."

Both suspects have been remanded in court. A hearing is set for December 6 in Swift Current.
