There were a few extra vehicles on the roads in Swift Current this evening during rush-hour.

The United We Roll convoy passed through the city around dinner time en route to Ottawa's Parliament Hill for a rally against the federal government early next week.

Glen Carritt, an organizer of United We Roll, said they left Red Deer, Alta. this morning around 8 a.m. and plan to make it to Regina during day one.

"It's been pretty good so far, no issues," he said. "The support has just been phenomenal, people on the side of the road with their signs, good supportive signs, thanking us, saluting us, as we go by."

An early highlight on the trip for Carritt was the roughly 200 people waiting in Strathmore, Alta. to greet and cheer the convoy, which began with about 160 vehicles.

The United We Roll Facebook page says they will reach Arnprior, Ont. (roughly 50 kilometres from Ottawa) on Sunday night and will convoy to Parliament Hill on Tuesday morning, before spending the remainder of the day rallying.

Carritt added he will return to the hill on Wednesday morning for a couple hours for a few more speeches and to ensure everything is cleaned up.

After that Carritt said people will begin to head back home but it won't be a convoy style heading back to western Canada.
