With the all-candidates forum coming to the Sky Centre on October 5th, all 18 city council candidates are preparing their speeches.

One of those candidates is Wayne Cormier, the Executive Director of the Swift Current and District Early Childhood Intervention Program.

Cormier explains his vision for the city.

"My vision is a community that celebrates diversity and everything that it means.

A place where everyone has accessibility to basic needs so that they can witness the growth and prosperity.

As well, that our elders would be supported and have an enhanced quality of life - they built this community over the years and we owe it to them," he said.

Cormier also discusses his love for Swift Current.

"Swift Current is a beautiful city. It's well-designed, we have a low crime rate and we have good housing.

Swift Current is where I plan on retiring and where my kids want to live.

So for me, it's just continuing the successes of previous administrations and building on them - and at the same time being a little more prudent with our resources," he said.

This year's election is October 26th.
