With a city on the grow, Swift Current City Council took the first step in improving traffic flows at this past week's regular meeting.

Council approved a contract with MMM Group to serve as consultants in the development of a Transportation Master Plan. Engineering Services Manager, Trevor Feicht says the plan will serve as a blueprint for handling future growth:

Feicht says this study will look at improving Highway 4, the service roads, and several growth areas and how they tie into the main roads, but won't get too specific with residential and downtown streets, since other studies are covering those roadways.

The City received $75,000 in funding from the province earlier this year to go towards the plan.
