Three people were killed after a single-vehicle rollover on the Trans-Canada Highway east of Chaplin.

RCMP say a westbound Ford pickup with five people inside rolled into the centre median of the highway at around 9:00pm Thursday night, and at least four people were ejected from the vehicle.

A 29-year-old man from Estevan, a 36-year-old man from Westlock, Alberta, and a 19-year-old woman from Estevan were pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators believe they were not wearing seatbelts. A 17-year-old man from Texas and a 21-year-old woman from Herbert were sent to hospital with serious injuries. No names are being released at this time.

Highway 1 westbound was closed for about nine hours for the investigation, but has now re-opened to traffic.
