Cypress Hills MLA Weighs In On Shaunavon Physician Recruitment

Cypress Hills MLA, Wayne Elhard, has lent his voice to physician recruitment in Shaunavon, “It's important to let the community know that problem isn't going without very serious and high level attention. The solution is going to be a bigger challenge then most people realize.”

Elhard adds, “The big challenge right now is to find doctors that want to work in a smaller community. There is a changing reality in terms of what we can expect from our doctors and we're having a hard time adjusting to that reality as a society and rural communities.”

With Shaunavon down to just one doctor, Elhard has organized a meeting for later this week with the Provincial Health Ministry, and Municipal leaders from Shaunavon and the surrounding area to address the doctor shortage issues.
