A proposed domed stadium in Regina could be a doomed stadium by the end of today.

It's the deadline set by the provincial government for their federal counterparts to announce a committment for funding for the $400 million project, which will be abandoned unless Ottawa pitches in support.

Today is also the one-year anniversary of the feasability study for the project, and a conditional land agreement with CP rail at the proposed site of the stadium will lapse tomorrow.

Premier Brad Wall says no last-minute pleas for funding will be made by the province, and Regina Mayor Pat Fiacco does not expect Ottawa to come through with funding.
