It's going to be a busy late spring and long summer for the City of Swift Current and construction crews.

Crews were forced to get a late start on work due to the colder weather we had earlier this year.

Mitch Minken is the general manager of infrastructure and operations for the City of Swift Current said that the weather pushed them back a month.

"It's a busy, busy time," he said. "We lost basically a month and now we are scrambling around trying to catch that month back up and get everything going on at once. It is very busy. We got the powerline project, we are going to have more street stuff going on in here and pavers are coming back and doing some more repair work so it's going to be a very busy June."

Minken said despite a late start he expects they should be able to complete everything.

"We are still planning to complete what we had planned it's just going to be a little bit of a scramble to catch up and make sure we get all the contractors and people in place and get the schedule going."

Minken added the fortunately for them there hasn't been a lot of rain to prevent crews from working, so they have been able to catch up.
