The Gull Lake Recreation Advisory Committee has been working for the past year to secure the funds to create a nine hole Disc Golf Course in that community.

Disc Golf is a great way to stay active all  year round with weighted discs that you throw at a basket that has chains and a catchment area on it, and you count your strokes just like you would in a regular golf game.

Gull Lake Recreation Director, Sara Kuntz, met with Disc Golf Saskatchewan this past weekend.

She said, "This meeting was just kind of a preliminary site assessment. So we took them to the area that we thought we would like to see some holes, and they kind of did a little tour of the area and sort of mentally plotted out where they thought the course should go. It actually turned out being not the spot we had anticipated, but they found another way better spot to put it."

The course will start in the ball diamonds area and then travel along part of the town's walking trail.

Disc Golf Saskatchewan will be back in the spring to plot the course and Kuntz says she hopes it will be operational by this summer.

Her guess on the cost of the project is around $8,000.
