Disc Golf has been a sport for all ages gaining popularity all over the southwest.

The Town of Shaunavon is hoping to have a Disc Golf Course operational around the first week of May.

Shaunavon Town Councilor and Wellness and Leisure Committee member, Shawn Lingenfelter, explains. "Disc Golf got brought to the table, I believe it was last year, we kinda started learning about it. So, this year we asked Town Council to approve that Wellness and Leisure go ahead and bring a Disc Golf Course to Shaunavon."

The Course has been mapped out and will have six holes. Three of them on the walking trail in the Bench View development, and three at Avondale Park.

It will be free of charge to play, however golfers must have their own discs.

Lingenfelter says that they are working on having some discs available for people to sign out and use as well.

Cost of the Disc Golf Course is budgeted at $10,000.
