The Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation held their Annual General Meeting yesterday afternoon.

Executive Director Clay Thompson said 2011 was a very successful year for the foundation on a fundraising standpoint, “Financial report shows about $1.3 million was generated fund raising activities, bequests that we received, and we had some interesting earnings that the stock market turned around a little bit on our endowment funds and allowed some money to be generated there as well”

The meeting included a number of presentations, including one to the Cypress Health Region of $170,000 that was raised during last fall's "Your Family's Health Radiothon" on Country Music Radio.

“We do an awful lot of work to put the events on and the communities to willingly support and all those kind of things. The fun part is when you turn that money back into the community and show that's its been put back to the purpose that people made it available.” added Thompson

“I know that they give me their capital equipment list on an annual basis or semi-annual basis as it's updated, things are purchased and moved off the list. I've been in the foundation now, this will be the third year, and I've never seen that number less than $3 million.”

That money will cover the purchase of much-needed equipment including vital signs monitors and new hospital beds.
