The phone lines will be busy Sunday as people call home to wish their mom a happy Mother's Day, which remains the busiest day for SaskTel every year.

"We do anticipate that SaskTel customers will make more than 1.1 million long-distance calls on Mother's Day, so it is, in fact, probably our busiest day of the year," said SaskTel's External Communications Director Michelle Englot.

She also suggests callers avoid trying to make calls at certain peak hours Sunday: "Based on our calling patterns, we anticipate that those times will be between 10:00am and 2:00pm, and then in the evening, from 7:30pm to 10:00pm, so if you call outside of those hours, chances are that your call will go through a lot better."

SaskTel says of the long-distance calls expected to be made Sunday, more than half will be to locations outside of Saskatchewan.
