The Swift Current and District Drug Task Force held their awards luncheon Thursday at the Center

Five different individuals and organizations were honoured by the Swift Current and District Drug Task Force at their first annual awards luncheon Thursday.

Winners were local student Alexus Poh, Steve Hursh from the RCMP, Taylor Vause, Jim Magee from the Southwest Community Youth Initiative, and the Kiwanis Club represented by Travis Cuthbert and Craig Menzies.

Danielle Poole with the Task Force felt it was a great opportunity to recognize the contributions they've made to the community...

Barry Cuthbert, representing the local Kiwanis Club, says community involvement remains a strong part of their mandate...

The luncheon was just one of the events held during Drug and Alcohol Awareness Week, which was capped off with a Mocktail Competition put on by Students Against Drinking and Driving. Best Presentation went to the Comp High School Student Leadership Council, while the best Mocktail went to the Swift Current Drug Task Force team.
