The Saskatchewan election campaign officially starts on Monday.  Premier Brad Wall has announced that he will visit our Lieutenant-Governor to dissolve the legislature just before Thanksgiving dinner is served around the province.

With the campaign starting Monday, that gives candidates exactly four weeks to try and get enough support in their ridings to become an MLA.

In Swift Current, Premier Wall is so far running against the NDP's Aaron Ens and Andrea Huxted for the Green Party.

The governing Saskatchewan Party currently represents all five ridings in our region.

Incumbents Wayne Elhard in Cypress Hills, Yogi Huyghebaert in Wood River, Lyle Stewart in Thunder Creek and Jim Reiter in Rosetown-Elrose are all running for re-election.

The opposition parties are still finalizing some of their candidates in those ridings.

We vote on November 7th. Stay tuned to your local Golden West Radio stations for election news throughout the campaign and a live election night special on CKSW and CJSN.
