The election headquarters of NDP candidate Aaron Ens officially opened yesterday morning

As politicians hit the campaign trail for the first day of the provincial election, Swift Current's NDP candidate opened his headquarters on Central Avenue.

Aaron Ens is hoping to make an impact by meeting with local voters, and is inviting everyone to stop by at 329 Central Ave. N.

Ens says affordable seniors housing is a major issue in Swift Current and points to an NDP strategy that would open 750 new assisted living centres across the province.

The New Democrats also announced they would invest a minimum of $100 million dollars a year into a fund fuelled by resources.

The party says the process to get the Bright Futures Fund rolling would start with a review of how much money the province gets from potash.
