Flooding in Swift Current in the spring of 2011

After frantically sandbagging last year, it looks like we will have a dry spring.

The Saskatchewan Watershed Authority has released an outlook for the potential of spring runoff across the province.

The report says the present snow pack condition of the agricultural area of the Province is below normal except for the very north east portion which is near normal and the south west region which is well below normal.

The irrigation reservoirs in southwestern Saskatchewan are generally near normal for this time of year.

There is currently a poor snow pack throughout much of the basin.

Preliminary projections are far below normal.
